Story

So as I'm sat here in hospital with Josh, I feel that it's probably
about time that I/we updated everyone on Josh. A few weeks ago, after
Josh had finished his first 10 weeks of chemotherapy, he was sent for
all his scans again (MRI's, CT scan, PET scan, ECG & hearing tests).
Unfortunately Josh's PET scan (which picks up abnormal cell activity)
has shown that his cancer has spread :-( from his original sites (femur, shoulder, rib & hip) to his spine, lower leg & spread further
down from his femur & also possible activity in one of his lymph
nodes in his groin. His CT scan has also shown that he has 10 very small
lung metastasis. There are no survivors with this disease progression.
We are absolutely heartbroken & have shed many tears. Joshua himself
hasn't been told that he will definitely not survive, but is aware that
the consultant is very worried that he won't. He has talked openly
about lots of things without being upset, so if Josh brings things up in
conversation then it is fine to discuss things with him, but please let
him be the conversation instigator. He is quite simply amazing, the
bravest warrior!! His brothers too are aware that Josh might not make it
& for now they are ok. It's a very hard situation to explain, as
I've said we are heartbroken, but we simply cannot cry day in, day out,
so for now whilst Josh is well we get by, we smile, we laugh & try
to make memories. It's hard to believe he's even ill, if it wasn't for
the hair loss, due to chemo & slight limp, you just wouldn't know,
his smile & his humour are as big as ever!
