The Buttle Trust give so many children in crisis chances to give them a better start in life. It’s one that’s close to my heart and over the years as a child care social worker I managed to get funds from them for such a lot of children and young people that made a huge difference to their lives. Some of my examples include a years worth of fees for the Glasgow Acting Academy for a young person that took her off the streets and into a whole new world that she never looked back from; a bedroom decorated for a young person who had very poor house conditions to make sure she had a nice place for her and maybe her friends to visit, a laptop to make sure a young person could get his homework done, a phone for another to just really so he could fit in more with his friends; a beauty course for a young person struggling to attend or finish school with the hope ensuring a future in that; an x box and a bike for a child because somebody sold them which became his prized possessions; and countless washing machines and cookers over the years really just to make sure kids have clean clothing and are fed.
