The Great Daffodil Appeal 2021 means more to us than ever. Our Nurses and Information and Support Team have been working throughout the pandemic providing care and support for dying people and their loved ones. At the same time, we’ve been unable to fundraise as normal. So just as our care is needed more than ever, we urgently need your support to help us carry on our vital work.

We know how proud we are in Wales to wear our daffodils on 1st March and this year will be no different. We invite you to celebrate St David’s Day with Marie Curie Cymru.

This year, on the 23rd March 2021 we will also be asking you to wear your daffodil once more to join Marie Curie as we unite the nation to create a day of reflection where communities can remember, grieve and celebrate the lives of everyone who has died during lockdown. Over two million people have been bereaved since the UK lockdown began, whether as a result of coronavirus or another cause. We need a time together to reflect on our collective sense of loss, and to remember and celebrate the lives of the people who’ve died, as we begin to heal from the trauma of this national crisis. The day to reflect, grieve and remember will coincide with the one-year anniversary of lockdown.

We really hope that you will join us to mark these special occasions. No matter how you choose to fundraise for us this year, it means the world to us and we promise to support you every step of the way.

Thank you
