Story
During June 2022, I'll be joining an intrepid group of riders on the UK Red Empire State 500, a tough six-day cycling challenge raising money for Rugby League Cares.
The six days start at Niagara falls before heading east following the historic Erie Canal to Albany. The route then heads south along the river Hudson and sections of the Appalachian Trail. The final day of the ride is through New York City via the Bronx, Harlem and Manhatten concluding with a reception in Central Park. The majority of the route is off tarmac where possible following gravel tracks and trails.
Rugby League Cares is an independent charity that touches on the lives of people involved at every level of the sport. In addition to supporting players at the end of their careers, RL Cares also promotes mental fitness and healthy lifestyle initiatives that are changing and saving lives.
