In 2014 I got talking with a young man called Jack Marshall. After looking in to his story I noticed Jack has over the past, carried out a lot of fundraising challenges for leukaemia & lymphoma research, raising thousands for Bloodwise. In September, I met up with Jack for one of his challenges conquering Striding Edge, Helvellyn. It was the best 12 hours I've ever spent. Seeing someone as determined as Jack made me realise that if you really want to achieve something then it is definitely possible and it was heart warming and humbling to witness.

For people who know me, knows I like the odd bottle of red every now and then. I have decided for the whole of 2016, I will not consume a single drop of alcohol, and have decided to do this to contribute to the fantastic work that Bloodwise do day in day out, towards researching the horrible disease Leukaemia & Lymphoma which affect upto 24 new diagnosis EVERY day and that statistic is for Leukaemia alone. This is going to be a tough challenge but nothing as tough as what people are facing every day with these horrible illnesses.
