Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child who will die prematurely. We are a home from home for our patients and their families, and provide round-the-clock care in a warm, loving environment.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

While most of the country are eating their way through chocolate and Easter eggs on Easter weekend Myself and My son Tim Escott will be taking part in what is renowned to be the toughest canoe race in the world, The race starts from sleepy Devizes and follows the Kennet & Avon canal to reading where the course then changes over to the river Thames which then takes us to Teddington Lock in London (108 MILES). The final 17 miles are then on the tideway finishing at Westminster bridge ( 125 miles ) . The course also includes 76 Locks which have to navigated mostly in the dark during night hours.

Myself at 48 years old am classed as a veteran in the canoeing world and have completed the race 4 times before the last time being 27 years ago and finishing 4th Place, Tim who is 20 years old has never completed the course.

I have been involved  With Helen And Douglas House charity for many years and have experienced some of the incredible work that this charity and its staff have achieved. The charity needs £5 million a year to keep their incredibly caring and endless work going so please sponsor this cause as much as you can.
