We need to raise £160 for Donald. Why? because he is a thoroughly decent guy who is being treated appallingly by the Job Centre. They have sanctioned him for 86 days? Why? Who knows. They haven't told him yet and when they do get round to telling him, he probably won't understand what they are telling him. You see, Donald has learning difficulties. He finds the 21st Century a hard place to get his head around. He can't do what the Job Centre tell him to do. So they catch him out and they sanction him. This time he is trying to make it through to end of February 2017 with no heat and no light. First Base will make sure he won't starve. We will make sure he gets two food parcels a week. But we would like to do more than that. We would like to help him to put the lights back on. And the heating. We would like him to have the wherewithal to heat himself a pan of soup. We would like him to have the chance to watch a bit of TV on Christmas Day. We would like him to feel his life has some worth. Imagine living in the cold and dark all the way to the end of February. Hard, right? Let's make sure Donald doesn't have to go through this.
