Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·

The Oxygen Works is a charity based in the Highlands of Scotland, supporting people with neurological and complex health conditions. We provide accessible, person centred therapies and support that help people improve wellbeing, independence and quality of life across the north of Scotland.

Story

The two charities do great work in the Highlands and Islands for a whole range of people and have supported me personally in my recovery from a bad accident in 2018.  I was hit by a van whilst on my bike and suffered physical injuries and a traumatic brain injury. Without the support of these 2 charities I would not have made the recovery that I have.  I would like to complete some events in 2022 and raise money for the two charities for two main reasons.  Firstly to raise money for the charities in question and enable them to keep doing what they do across the Highlands and Islands.  But also to show others what can be achieved with a positive mindset.  I will be doing the Inverness Half Marathon, the Celtman 0.5, the Loch Ness Marathon and the Dava Ultra.  I would also like to link my activity to TOW fundraising as part of the Kilt Walk in October.  Although the page is linked to the Oxygen Works, Leigh-Ann will transfer half the money raised back to Lee at Headway Highland.
