Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My dad (pictured recently with my son at Sandhurst) was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in November 2018, tragically losing his fight for life on Saturday March 16th, 2019. Aged just 77, physically fit and incredibly active, he died far too young. I knew nothing about this devastating illness before but have since learned;

  •  It has the lowest survival rate of all cancers, just 3 to 6% of those diagnosed survive for 5 years!
  • Survival has improved for most cancers over the last 40 years but not for Pancreatic cancer!
  • Despite being the 7th most common form of cancer death, it's massively underfunded, receiving less than 2% of overall cancer research funding!
  •  It affects men and women equally!

My daughter, step mother and I will all be running the London 10k on the 21st July in his memory and to try to do our very small part in raising money and awareness for this despicable illness. I know times are tough but any small donation you can afford would be so welcome, thank you

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.
