As this is a charity event, we will be collecting donations for the Chris Lucas Trust which supports research into Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare
form of childhood cancer. Any donations received would be greatly appreciated.
This started out as a relaxing end of summer break in Northumberland visiting the in-laws and after being hoodwinked by Claire’s dad into going for a “little bike ride” on the Sunday it has turned into a monster challenge for me. Claire’s dad is a keen cyclist regularly covering 50 plus KM a couple of times per week and also completed the Sea to Sea Cycle Route (C2C – 230KM) a couple of years back. However for me as a mountain biker, I am more used to much shorter rides and using up-lifts wherever possible for the downhill’s. That said I have been getting in some training and managed a 27KM bike pub crawl on Monday. Perfect training if you ask me :-) .
Still, I am looking forwards to the ride as the Northumberland coastline has to be among the best in the country, that and the fact that Tunnock’s is an event sponsor so there should be plenty of caramel wavers to keep me going :-p .
Thanks in advance for any donations made.
