In 2016 my younger brother Chris was sadly diagnosed with Cerebellar Ataxia. The impact on all of our family has been immense, but Chris, being the type of person that he is, has dealt with it with humour, courage and Bud Light! Some of the daily symptoms he has to deal with are loss of balance, coordination and dexterity, along with hearing issues and eyesight problems, to name but a few. We are all so proud of him and how he manages day to day life and I have decided to give something back to the amazing charity that is Ataxia UK by running the London Marathon this year. I am feeling pretty apprehensive about the distance as I suffered a serious hip injury whilst training for the event in 2021, but thankfully I'm now back to full strength and raring to give it a go! None of us knew anything about Ataxia before Chris was diagnosed, but now that we do, we are determined to raise awareness and spread the word about this cruel and life changing condition. Any donations that you can give will help to improve treatment and perhaps one day find a cure. We can only hope. Thank you for all your support.
