Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Year of doing things!! This year i will be taking part in two events. First one will be a Sky Dive in August and the second is the Great North Run. I will be doing these dressed as one of my hero's Superman.

I will be raising Money for a charity called NACOA, National Association  Children of Alcoholics. It is a Charity that helps Children and Adults who have alcoholics in their lives. They want to help and be supportive to the people who have witness horrors when living or even knowing an alcoholic.

I am very passionate about raising money or even spreading the word about this amazing chairty.

In the world of Superman the S is a family crest that stands for hope and i hope by doing these events i can give NACOA the funds it needs to help give  to people who are are/were affected.

I have witnessed first hand what an alcoholic destructive power can do to people lives. I watched a human mind break in front of me. I had to visit a person in hospital twice because they tried taking their own life when they were very drunk.I have watched people be extremely abusive and aggressive to myself and to the people that i love and care about around me. I had to pick people off the streets so they wouldn't get hit by on coming traffic and walked into rooms thinking they were dead but they have had so much to drink they have passed out. I have had to listen to their constant lies about their drinking, telling me that it is water so i grab it out of their hand and try a bit to find out its much stronger then water! blaming me for what was happening to them but take no responsibility for their own actions.  This is a small part of a battle i have had over 13 years of my life and it's still continues now.

At times it has become too much, however i have amazing friends (you know who you are) and girlfriend who gave me a home when i needed it, days out just so i could get a breather, Christmases or even just their own time so could tell them about whats going on.

I know not everyone is as lucky as me so this is why i want to raise as much money as possible to help people and maybe help them avoid seeing and experience things that i did and I still do.

Unfortunately the number of alcoholics are on the rise and I would like to help raise awareness of this charity as more and more people are being affected.

About the charity

1 in 5 children in the UK are affected by their parents' alcohol problems. They are often frightened and isolated, with no one to turn to for help. Nacoa responds by providing a free, confidential telephone, 1-2-1 chat and email helpline.
