Story
In a couple of weeks (Sunday Feb 25th) Till and I are running the Brighton half marathon together!!
A mumma/daughter team whoooop… we’ve never done a run like this together before and have decided to raise as much as we can in the next couple of weeks for the inspirational charity War Child. PLEASE HELP US!!
In 2014 I ran the London marathon raising money for War Child…Since then they work in more countries; reach, help and support long term yet more children and continue the amazing work they have been involved with since they began as a response to the violence and ethnic cleansing their founders witnessed in the Yugoslavian crisis in 1993 and especially its impact on children.
Last night I was watching channel 4 news…The head of the united nations children fund in Syria says “the world is becoming numb to the killing of children’ https://www.channel4.com/news/russia-carries-out-heaviest-syria-bombing-since-2015
Russia carries out some of the heaviest bombing since 2015..the hospital was bombed 4 times, the weakest and the most vulnerable infants have to be evacuated but there is no where for them to go…there are no incubators and no where safe and warm for the premature babies being lifted from the rubble…the head of the united nations children fund in Syria says “the world is becoming numb to the killing of children’
So please-please-please help us raise as much as we can before Sunday Feb 25th for all the children in all the countries that war Child currently works in. Its only a couple of weeks away but that’s plenty of time!! And please share this on face book if you have face book buddies who you think might donate too….
Less than 3% of humanitarian aid is spent on child protection in conflict-affected regions. War Child is striving for a world in which no child's life is torn apart by war. They protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children. By making a donation, you will be making a difference to thousands of children whose lives have been turned upside-down by conflict. You’ll be helping them receive the care and support they need to overcome the traumas they’ve suffered and you’ll be helping to transform their futures for the better.
and Till and I will keeeeep on running.............
