Mat's Manchester to London bike ride for Proton Beam Therapy, The Christie · 17 June 2016

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

I dont often take part in charity work as I am usually doing something sporty routinely but on the 17th June 2016, a group of Christie Hospital Manchester and University College London Hospital cyclists will depart from the site of the Christie Proton Beam Therapy Centre in South Manchester and ride to UCLH centre in Central London.

200 miles in 2 days.

The NHS National Proton Beam Therapy Programme will make an advanced form of radiotherapy available to patients in the UK for the first time and the centres in Manchester and London have been chosen to deliver the service.

I'll be one of about 15 riders that make up the group from staff, contractors and stakeholders from both hospital teams and I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me. Your donation will go towards the team target of £10,000 to help make the lives of patients visiting the Christie Proton Beam Centre more tolerable.

Thank you for taking the time to donate and for your genorosity.
