Pause’s vision is a society where no family experiences the removal of a child more than once. We offer a trauma-informed model of support to women at risk of having multiple children removed from their care. This enables women to take a pause and prioritise their goals, to sustain positive change.

Story

Ellen, Alan and I are cycling across England between Pause Cumbria and Pause Tyne and Wear. We're setting off from Workington on Friday afternoon and hope to be dipping our tyres into the sea at Tynemouth on Sunday evening (we're informed this is tradition).

Pause works to prevent the damaging consequences of thousands more children being taken into care each year. We work with those who have had, or are at risk of having, their children removed from their care, creating a space for change, allowing women to focus on themselves, sometimes for the first time in their lives.Working intensively with the women, we help build their self-esteem, encourage reflection and support their aspirations around employment and education to enable them to build a more positive future for themselves.

Any donation is hugely appreciated.
