Story
Hello!
I will be taking part in a 26 mile hike in the Peak District
to raise money for Macmillan Cancer support and in memory of my dad.
As some of you know, my father died just before Christmas
last year after being diagnosed with utereal cancer in the summer of 2016. He
was in the Macmillan Palliative Care Unit at the Northern General Hospital in
Sheffield when he died and is buried in Bamford, Derbyshire in view of the
Peaks.
I felt very lucky to be with Dad when he died, and I can
testify to just what an extraordinary and important job Macmillan staff perform,
alongside the staff in the NHS. They gave my dad and our family really
essential support throughout his illness.
