Approximately 3 years ago my dad went into hospital for a routine hip operation, unfortunately due to a slight cognitive problem that he was diagnosed with prior to his operation, after the operation he fell into a state of delirium and has never recovered, he has since been diagnosed with early on set dementia. He is now in a dementia care home and requires 24hour care. Anyone who knew my dad prior to this happening will know what a caring and happy man he was all the time, loved his family, friends and a game of football! He never missed a game watching me evey saturday whether it be home or away he would there! We now manage to get him out at least once a week generally in a wheel chair to walk his loyal dog Millie who absolutely adores and misses him so much! Myself, 2 of my brothers and my uncle are running the great north run to try and give to this amazing charity. Any donation will be hugely appreciated, thanks for taking the time to read my story
