Story

Whilst I’m on gardening leave, before starting a new job, I wanted to challenge myself and also raise money for a charity close to my heart. So I’ve decided to run a half marathon in January in support of Sarcoma UK.

I am doing this in memory of a friend, Chris Jones, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 38. Chris’ wife Stacey has raised many thousands of pounds for Sarcoma UK, mainly through her amazing artwork, so I am aiming to add to and support this.

I have never ran anywhere near this distance in my life. I’ve only done a handful of 10km runs, and a couple of them were about 10 years ago! However my aim is to run the half marathon in under 2 hours, so I better get training! Anything that you can spare to donate, however small, to support Sarcoma UK will be massively appreciated.

Sarcoma UK are a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.Thank you for your support.
