Story
As most of our friends and family know, our son, Matt, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in June 2013 at the age of 13. It has been an extremely difficult few years for him, but with the help of his Insulin pump and his sheer determination not to let it get him down or stop him doing anything and everything he loves, he is now leading as normal a life as possible.
This year, one of his goals is to take part (along with his Dad!!) in CARTEN100 2017 - a bike ride from Cardiff to Tenby - 100 miles in one day! This will take place on Saturday 6th May.
CARTEN100 2017 have decided to nominate JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), the Type 1 Diabetes medical research charity, as their official charity.
JDRF fund research to cure, treat and prevent Type 1. They work with government, academia and industry to accelerate research in the UK and within healthcare policy to ensure that the outcomes of research are delivered to people with Type 1 in the UK.
Matt and Andy are looking for your support in trying to reach their goal of £500 for this charity. Please help us get there by donating what you can.
Thank you so very much!
Andy and Matt Binnie (and Gillian)
