Hi Guys... My name is Matthew Cook a huge dog and animal lover.

A few months ago I started to look into how dogs are treated in European countries especially in Sarajevo, Bosnia, where the government do not have any rules or regulations when it comes to homeless and stray dogs. The dogs are caught by corrupt private dog catchers taken to a private kennels where they sit/sleep in their own faeces, urine and eventually starve to death. Dogs on the streets are also poisoned, battered, deliberately ran over by cars and clubbed to death, sadly, in my research I have witnessed all this on videos that and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to watch. Feeling helpless and disappointment in humanity I figured I have to do something to help these amazing animals that bring so much love to us all.  As a privileged person who is owned by a dog, I cannot imagine the hurt and pain that his fellow breed has to go through just because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time.  If you ever want to know what ultimate loyalty is, look into a dogs eyes and you will find it in abundance.

My plan is to walk alone from my home in North Wales to London around 280 miles... I believe this to be a small sacrifice compared to what the dogs go through on a daily basis.

I will be raising money for 2 amazing charities,  Saving Suffering Strays (www.savingsufferingstrays.com) in Sarajevo, Bosnia who is ran by the amazing Milena Malesevic and her team who give up their lives to save these dogs on a daily basis.  My second is All Dogs Matter (www.alldogsmatter.co.uk) who do the same work in the UK and help re home dogs.  Please visit their pages to see the amazing work they do, no graphic content juts dogs being shown lots of love from people who care. The rely on donations to help keep the dogs safe, fed and re homed. 

The money raised will help pay for

• Kennel refurbishment
• Food and Medication 
• Beds as the dogs currently have to sleep on hard wooden crates to keep their bodies off the cold ground.
• Funds will also be used to help find forever homes for these wonderful dogs who are just looking to be loved.

My journey is just beginning, I will never stop.
