Story

Hi guys,

I am currently working away on business and I have managed to get involved with a fantastic objective, which is to raise as much money for charity as possible by Thursday 14th July at 3:00pm!

In order to do this, I am willing to sacrifice the one thing in the world that I am very fond of personally - my hair! For those of you who know me, you will know I am fond of my fine locks so losing this does come at a personal price......but this is nothing compare to what the people at Beaumond House Hospice have to deal with on a daily basis!

Therefore, I want to raise as much money as possible from now until Thursday. My pledge is this:

I will commit to having my head shaved in the Knowhow Repair Centre on Monday 25th July 2016

For every colleague who donates more than £10, I will put your names into a hat and I will ask Damian Rodgers to pick out 10 lucky winners who will have the opportunity to share my head shave! Also in addition, for the person who makes the largest donation, I will ensure you get to shave a pattern of your choice into my hair before the main head shave event begins.

It will be fantastic if I can raise over £1000 in a few short days so please donate to this fantastic cause and click the link!

Thanks guys,

Matt

P.S - Here is some more information about the charity:

Beaumond House Community Hospice is a registered charity
that is committed to providing supportive palliative care to patients with
life limiting or terminal illnesses and their families living in Newark &
district, since 1987.

Beaumond House operates over an approximate radius of 15
miles from Newark. The area it therefore encompasses include: Tuxford,
Bilsthorpe, Ollerton, Sutton-on-Trent, Thorpe-on-the-Hill, Leadenham,
Caythorpe, Long Bennington, Bottesford, Bingham, Lowdham, Southwell, Collingham and Bassingham.

Each year we provide care for over 500 patients and support to
their families, caring for around 150 patients at any one time.

At Beaumond House, we are really keen to dispel the myth that
those we support come here to die.  Yes we do support people at the end of life and do so in a way which is truly person centred. We offer personalised, compassionate support where patients’ wishes are respected and delivered and where family members can be with loved ones in an entirely private setting. We can then offer after-care and bereavement support in-house and extended through our Resource and Information Centre on Stodman Street in Newark, where expert counselling is available, again free of charge.

However, Beaumond House is also very much about living.
Through our doors you will find a lively and vibrant space, filled with life
and laughter.  Our staff, volunteers and patients alike bring hope and
happiness together in a ‘home from home’ setting.  Patients enjoy
wholesome home cooked food and days are filled with therapeutic activities and personalised support from our nurse led team. We welcome guests and visitors at all hours.

We also recognise that many people wish to stay at home to
receive support.  Our Hospice@Home team take the Beaumond House approach into patients’ homes, offering expert care, sitting, advice and support.

A key part of Beaumond House are the local GP’s who continue to
provide clinical support to patients, we work alongside them to ensure
continuous and high quality care. Leaders from across all faiths are also
frequent visitors to Beaumond House ensuring that spiritual needs are also met.

We’re proud of our approach and welcome anyone to come through
our doors, to take a look at and feel the warmth and friendliness of Beaumond House.

We have 4 beds for short-term in-patient care, 11 day-care
places each week day and provide care in the community to care for our
patients. Our Resource & Information Centre based in Newark town centre
provides information and advice to patients, family and carers.

We are supported very significantly by volunteers in day care,
fundraising, and our two charity shops, in Newark and Southwell. All their contributions are invaluable.

A Board of Directors, who are all volunteers, hold the ultimate
responsibility for the hospice, the policy decisions and finances.

All of our care is provided at no cost to the patient or their family and anyone can make a referral to Beaumond House, our doors are open 365 days a year and 24 hours day
