Matthew died peacefully in his sleep on Friday 23rd December with his wife, Lizzy, his brother, Michael and his sisters, Sarah and Caroline at his bedside. His parents, Roger and Patricia, were with him throughout the last days of his life and many family and friends had a chance to bid him farewell. Rather than sending flowers Lizzy and his family would appreciate donations to Maggie's Centres, a charity which provided Matthew with valuable advice at a time when it was much needed.
