I  have now been working at the  hospice  for 16 months after 21years lecturing in Hospitality in the FE sector. The support and care  the staff at Bluebell Wood provide for the children with life shortening illnesses and their families is overwhelming.

This is a special place that makes magical memories,  whether its a Christmas party in the summer for a child that won't be here for the next or their first Christmas , or  a child experiencing  a bath for the first time because they don't have the equipment at home to facilitate it . One of the best things for me when I am at  the hospice in the fundraising office  is hearing  the laughter from the children in the garden as the care team and volunteers play hide and seek , or bounce on the accessible trampoline ! 

I have a very dear friend who lost her son at a very young age over 20 years ago and nothing like Bluebell Wood was around then , I feel her pain every time we meet for a coffee and a catch up . I wish there had been a Bluebell Wood back then for her because the end of life care and bereavement counselling they provide  would have really helped her ,  this Sky jump is my way of giving to the hospice so that other families do not suffer in silence. 

I am asking for donations of any amount no matter how big or small as I know we are all going through difficult times , and instead of any birthday gifts this year I am asking for donations to this skydive pledge , this will be a birthday I will never forget and with your help and support we can help make more magical memories for the families of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice , thank you in advance for all and any kind donations  xx Maxene
