Royal Parks Half Marathon 2019 · 13 October 2019 ·

Founded by Prof Iain Hutchison, Saving Faces aims through education and research to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of facial disfigurement, facial injury and mouth cancer and is committed to reducing the suffering of all victims of these devastating and often fatal conditions.

Story

Please help me raise money for Saving Faces- combating cancer, injury and disfigurement in the most socially important part of our bodies- the face and mouth.

I will be running The Royal Parks half marathon on Sunday 13th October compromising Hyde Park,  Green Park, St James's Park and Kensington Gardens.

More research needs to be carried out surrounding the treatment and the psychological factors of mouth cancers, facial injuries, and disfigurement.

Saving Faces relies heavily on voluntary donations from a wide variety of supporters in order to continue their research activities as well as funding the world’s first National Facial, Oral and Oculoplastic Research Centre (NFORC).

I have a very strong personal connection to this charity through my work at Dawood & Tanner where Dr Dawood has treated major cases of trauma and facial disfigurement, to help patients regain a sense of self and function.

I know through the work of Dawood & Tanner how important Saving Faces charity is to these individuals.

Please, donate as little or as much as you can and help to motivate me on those long runs home after work!

Thanks so much for your support :)
