Story

Hello everybody,

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the 9th of March, when this little angel should have turned 17, we decided to do some fund raising in Maya's name to turn some of the pain from her loss into positive action.

We want to help other incredible children facing the challenge she overcame day after day.

For those of you who knew Maya, you will know what a wonderful and special girl she was. For those of you who didn't have the honour of meeting her, here's a little bit of information about Maya Davis...
Our little girl Maya was an incredible girl. She touched the lives of everybody that she met and is held in the hearts of so many. Her giggle could make a room of people smile and when she rocked out in the car with dad to loud trance music she could stop traffic! At The Milestone School Maya had many friends and had a magical time with her peers learning and playing. Her favourite past time was to go swimming in the hydrotherapy pool. Maya shocked everybody one day in the pool. She didn't like having the floating devices on her and so one day, her teacher took them off....and she floated! A little girl who couldn't walk giggled as she floated all by herself in the warm waters of the school hydrotherapy pool. This was a time when she could fully relax, stretch out her limbs and have a huge amount of fun!

So here is the exciting thing, the Chamwell Centre are fundraising to build a brand new, purpose built hydrotherapy pool at The Milestone School to replace the currently existing 40 year old pool. The new pool will enable a whole new generation of children and adults with disabilities to benefit from a past time that Maya loved so much. More details on the project can be found here: http://thechamwellcentre.org.uk/hydrotherapy/

They need to raise 3.5 million pounds for the new venture and we want to help in the name of Maya!
