Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page for Medic Malawi.

Amao Orphanage was built in 2007, with funds raised by the children of Wrekin College.  It now houses 52 children who have lost their parents through poverty and disease, including AIDs.

Malawi is the 7th poorest country in the world.  For these children their first meal of the day is in the early afternoon after their lessons any typically comprizing maize and beans.

It is difficult for the children to study on an empty stomach, so we are raising money to contribute towards the provision of a maize porridge before they go to their lessons each day.

It costs just £5 to feed 12 children or £20 to provide breakfast for the whole orphanage for a day.
