Peak District Ultra Challenge 2023 · 8 July 2023 to 9 July 2023 ·

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

On the 8th July Leanne and I are taking on an endurance Ultra Challenge to raise funds for Dementia UK.

We will be swapping our heels for some walking boots as we embark on a 50km trek around the Peak District. Although we already have a passion for fitness, this will be challenging for the both of us especially as we aim to complete the challenge in under 10 hours, so we are prepared for plenty of blisters along the way (some of you will already know how fast I like to walk).

Almost all of us will know a friend or family member who has been impacted by a loved one having dementia. By 2025, it’s estimated that over one million people in the UK will have a diagnosis of dementia. Dementia UK provided vital support to families across the UK through advice and their network of Admiral Nurses.

Please help us by kindly donating to our fundraising page, every donation counts no matter how small and will help us to reach our collective goal of £800.

We'll keep you posted on our progress, thank you in advance for your support!
