Story
On the 11th October, I will be walking 25km for the Humane League UK. This is a wonderful charity and very close to my heart! Your donation will help the Humane League UK change the lives of animals suffering on factory farms. In 2015, my family adopted 6 ex battery hens. They were unable to walk and covered in bald spots due to the cages they were kept in, they would sit with their eyes closed as they had never seen the sun and it was too much for their poor eyes. Within a few months, these chickens became happy and confident but still had major health issues and couldn’t grow feathers on certain parts of their bodies. They were brilliant little hens and would follow you round the garden or sit on your lap for a cuddle. They did not deserve the treatment they received from the farming system. Unfortunately, this is the reality that many animals are still facing in factory farming systems. Millions of laying hens are crammed into tiny cages, broiler chickens are grown so big they can’t support their own weight. These animals will never get to experience the joy of life. Please help me raise money to help improve the welfare of the animals in factory farms and to make their lives better.
