Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This is my third year running the British 10K for the Samson Centre and I can honestly say that crossing the finishing line in the previous two years has been the best feeling I have ever had. Not only do I feel proud of myself for completing the race, but I am also so proud of my Dad for being the driving force behind the Samson Centre even though he is suffering from the terrible illness himself. 14 years ago my Dad, John Hambly, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which is an incurable disease that affects the nervous system. When I was younger I saw him as a big, strong, rugby-playing daddy but as the illness progresses all of this is being taken away from him and he is slowly being robbed of all the physical things that we take for granted. I was 3 when he was diagnosed and couldn't be prouder of the dad I have been given. The Samson Centre offers all the treatments and physio that his condition now depends upon to support his deteriorating health, alongside many other sufferers. The annual running cost for the centre is over £100K which sadly they have to fundraise by themselves as they receive no public funding, so your contribution is invaluable to keep the centre running.

It is very important to me to run this race again and I have an aim to beat my previous two times and raise more money than I have done before to support such an incredible charity and to make my dad proud of me again like I am proud of him everyday.
