Story

Thanks for popping on by to my page! I'll just start off with a few words about Dyspraxia and why I'm doing this.

Dyspraxia is a developmental disorder of the brain in childhood causing difficulty in activities requiring coordination and movement. My brother was born with this disability, which started making itself known when we noticed his hearing was affected at the age of two.

As the years went by, other symptoms started to show such as his poor handwriting and mood swings. His frustration kept building up and would frequently come out in severe tantrums, sometimes resulting in some form of material destruction.

He is now older and is more understanding of his disability but, unfortunately, it doesn't end there. His motor co-ordination is continually declining and this affects his speech and general movements. Further disorders may develop such as bulimia, depression etc.

It has been hard getting help for my brother and it still is as so few people actually know of this disorder. People have outright said that we are lying and are committing fraud by claiming that this 'non-existent disability' exists!  This has never been the case and I know that there are others who are in the same situation as we are. This is why I have chosen to support the Dyspraxia Foundation as they are the ones that people, like my brother, go to for help and guidance. It is the only charity out there that aims to support people hindered with this disability and they need all the help we can give.

I want to help by the Dyspraxia Foundation and others with Dyspraxia by not only raising awareness but by raising money to ensure that they will receive the help and understanding that my brother was unable to receive.

Please can you help me to help others?

Thank you.
