Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ok, so this is the first time I've really spoken out about this and I'm not one to normally do this but for a good cause I'm going to say what's on my mind.

Seeing as today my twin brother should be celebrating his 26th birthday with me I wrote this:

In 2016, on the 9th of January my life changed forever. I woke up the morning of January the 9th, it was a normal day expect for one thing, I was finally training with my twin brother hoping to get him back into health and fitness and so I could have a gym buddy. That Saturday morning we trained and I thought it was going to be a regular thing from then on. At the end of the gym session my twin brother asked me for a diet plan as I was taking my level 2 in fitness and exercise, I complied and forwarded him a diet plan.

He replied with a thanks and a smiley emote.

Later that day something didn't feel right, something inside me felt... quiet, alone, almost afraid.

I received a phone call from the landlord whome my brother was staying with asking me if I had heard from him? Immediately I knew something was wrong, I don't know why maybe call it as it is and say it was because we were twins.

So I rang and rang and rang, I cried and cried, he just didn't answer, I knew something major had happened. I couldn't sit still, I had to know what was going on.

Out of the blue whilst on Facebook one of my brothers Simon had put a post up saying that his cousin had found a man's body within a trailer, it was him I knew from that moment it was him, it had to be!

As far as I was aware the police were already there so I rung the police and said that I think my brother was the one that had been found.

All they asked was where I was and if I was with anyone, then it really hit home, it definitely was him.

I just felt empty, like something massive had been ripped from me, my heart? I hurt soo much! From that day I decided enough was enough, something had too change.

So that is my story, since that day I swore to follow my dreams, to strive to be a better me, to do this in honour of my brother Matt.

This show is part of this adventure on my way to becoming a personal trainer, and I want to give back to the community. I want to make people aware of the mental illness that is depression that is rising in Guernsey.

On October the 7th I compete in my first ever Mens Physique competition, it all comes down to a couple of things...

Dedication.

Passion.

Drive.

Awareness.

Excercise and diet can help transform your body and your mind.

Please help this cause, educate yourself on mental awareness, say hi to a stranger, smile at someone you don't normally smile at.

But most of all if you suffer from depression, speak out, don't feel as though you're the only one.

So with that I've decided to set this page up to see if you lovely people would donate for the charity (Guernsey Mind)

Thank you.

Matt, I will always miss you, I will love you, and in the hope that one day, we can see each other again. X

I miss you bro. ❤
