Story
On October 29 I will be running the 2023 Dublin City Marathon and as part of that, I am raising money to help support cancer patients and their families. I have decided to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society as earlier this year my mam was diagnosed with breast cancer. Additionally, at the end of 2022, her brother, and my uncle, was diagnosed with colon cancer.
Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people in Ireland dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland. An average of 1 person every hour. The Irish Cancer Society are working towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support.
Your support will help make a difference.
