Being diagnosed with a terminal illness can turn your world upside down. We're here to help people make the most of the time they have left, and provide expert care so that they can die with dignity. Your donation today will help us to be here for people in East London when they need us.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the 2010 London Marathon. I have decided to run the Marathon this year because I eat and drink far too much most of the time and need a goal like this to spur me on! And of course, more importantly, to raise money for the worthy cause of St Joseph’s Hospice.

St Joseph’s, based in Hackney, East London, provides a home and support for people diagnosed with an illness that cannot be cured. It aims to help patients live life to the full, easing pain and bringing comfort and understanding. Patients are treated either at the hospice or in their own homes by skilled doctors, nurses, social workers and volunteers, whilst much needed support is provided for family and friends. The Hospice’s services are provided free of charge, and 60% of its annual running costs of £12 million must be raised by charitable donations and through fundraising.

Donating through JustGiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Joseph’s gets your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, JustGiving makes sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on your donation.

On top of that, St Joseph’s is National Australia Bank’s Community Partner, and the Bank has pledged to double the amount of that I raise.

So please help to support St Joseph’s and sponsor me now!
