Macmillan Caring Locally works in partnership with the NHS to fund the Macmillan Unit, a Hospice and specialist palliative care unit at Christchurch Hospital in Dorset. Please note that we are not connected in any way to the national charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

Story

It is my privilege to be Chairman of Macmillan Caring Locally which is based in the Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital. We shall shortly be launching an appeal to raise £4 million to add to the £5 million we have in reserves to rebuild the Unit at a cost of around £9million. My wife Carolyn has bravely volunteered to skydive to kickstart fundraising for the appeal. We don't anticipate Carolyn alone raising £4million and donations of any size will be appreciated.
