Homelessness is an issue that my
family, Alison, Amy & Lucy, all feel very strongly about! We feel no one at
all should have to sleep rough.

As a manufacturing guy and
businessman I was always taught to identify the root cause of a problem before
you try and fix a problem. Root causing homelessness is a massive task, a
national challenge that will continue to need support from all corners - far
and wide. A challenge that I am going to be raising and lobbying whenever I personally
get the chance. 

In the interim however I am going to
try and help by supporting
fundraising and raising money myself for charities that ease the suffering of
the homeless. Remembering at all times "There
but for the grace of God, go I".

So as a person that believes “Charity begins
at home, but should not end there.” and as a businessman
with thirty years’ experience and an extensive network of business contacts I have
personally decided to support CEO Sleepout by becoming their first of ten
national Ambassadors, supporting CEO Sleepout organisation with my business
experience, supporting CEO Sleepout marketing and media and finally of course by
taking part in my home town of Darlington CEO Sleepout event at Mowden Park
Rugby Club, The Northern Echo Arena, Neasham Rd, Darlington DL2 1DL on the
17.10.19.

Sleeping
rough for the night may not be everyone’s cup of tea or fit in with them for many
private and legitimate reasons which is absolutely fine. What we can all do
however is make a donation that will help ease the suffering of the UKs homeless
population which at last count is about 320,000 people living rough or homeless!
That’s three times the population of my home town of Darlington.
