A year ago today (17th November 2012) our beautiful girls Elia and Elan were born. Unfortunately, at 22 weeks they were too young to surivive and they passed away immediately. I cannot put into words the devistation and utter hopelessness we and our families felt. No parent should ever have to go through this heartbreak and I wish everyday that this could have been prevented. Our lives will never be the same again and we as people will always have a piece of our heart broken. 

That is why the charity SANDS is such an important one, in preventing this happening in the future. SANDS is the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. They operate throughout the UK, promoting research to reduce the loss of babies' lives and to support anyone who is affected by the death of a baby. I am raising money for this fantastic charity. I am limited in activities I can do to raise the money as I am pregnant again (yay!) so at the moment,  this is a request for donations in memory of our gorgeous girls on their first birthday. 

Today, on our daughter's birthday, is WORLD PREMATURITY DAY. Premature labour and stillbirth affect 17 women and their families PER DAY in the UK, one of the highest rates in the Western world. They have the potential to affect every single pregnant woman and her family. Your friend, partner/wife, daughter, granddaughter, neice. Your support and donations are cruitial in helping preventing this from happening to future parents and potentailly someone you know. 

In memory of Elia and Elan, to support World Prematurity Day and to help SANDS continue with the fantastic work they do in preventing premature labour and stillbirth thorugh extensive research programmes and providing support to those who need it, please please donate and support this worthy cause.
