London Marathon 2018

London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·
Well, this is unexpected - I never thought I'd to be lucky enough to gain a place in the ballot if I'm honest, but I have, and to have the privilege to run for Great Ormond Street Hospital is an opportunity I can't turn down.
I'm 52, I weigh a little more than I should, I like wine, and chocolate - I am not a runner, in fact I've never run more than 10k in my life! So, running 26.2 miles...scary! But...and this is a big but...I'm not doing this alone! I have people who believe in me, encourage me, motivate me, and best of all I'm running it with my friend and desk buddy Beth, who also won a place in the ballot...what are the odds!
I chose to run for Great Ormond Street Hospital because this charity continues to make a massive difference to children's lives and the dedicated staff and fabulous surroundings help to make a tough time more bearable for the children undergoing treatment and their families. It is a charity close to my heart for several reasons, but more of that later.
Every donation helps Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity to provide the best facilities and equipment, research and develop new treatments, and support their remarkable patients and their families.
Throughout my training I will tell you more about GOSH and the work they do so please check back on this page every now and again for this and updates on how my training is going.
