Story

Hello lovely person!

This month I've given up the beautiful booze to raise money for the Motor-Neurone Disease Association - and to give my liver a bit of a rest!

Last month my mate Darren lost his dad to the disease, which saw the lovely (and inspiring!) Ken Hever-Smith lose his ability to talk, eat, and eventually breathe.  Before I learnt about Ken's illness, I didn't realise that MND can actually kill you, thinking that it was a disability that people - like Stephen Hawkins - lived with.  But there are different forms of the condition, and my lovely friend's dad had one of the most critical.

So I want to raise some cash - and awareness - of this disease so that people like Ken and his family get the support that they need - and so that, hopefully, less people die prematurely of MND in the future.

If you think that, as a challenge, giving up booze is a bit lame, I suggest you check out my Facebook page, Twitter feed or talk to anyone who knows me socially.  For me, there is nothing quite as glorious as a glass of wine after a hard day at the office, and I'm going to miss it... a LOT!!!  So please donate whatever you can to keep me going - and to support this amazing charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
