At least 1000 people have been killed and more than 500 injured in the Middle East Crisis http://www.moiz.ca/coffin.htm . 400,000 people are now thought to have been displaced with the numbers rising.

Access to food and water is limited due to the destruction of many roads, closure of ports and the bombing of Beirut airport. Many health centres have been abandoned and hospitals are experiencing power cuts and disrupted water supplies, leaving the injured without medical care.

Islamic Relief Worldwide has allocated €1 million to the heightened humanitarian crisis in the Middle East and is appealing for a total of €4 million. The funds will be used to provide emergency aid including food, water, blankets and medicine.

We have launched a humble campaign to try and do what little we can to help those who are suffering…

On the 2nd of September 2006 a group of us will be climbing Mount Idris in Wales. We hope to try and raise as much money as possible to help the ongoing relief effort.

Islamic Relief have shipped relief supplies into Lebanon, including 4,000 jerry cans, 2,000 family hygiene kits and 10,000 sleeping mats. In Palestine, Islamic Relief aid workers are distributing 13,000 food parcels to the poorest families.
