At my employers annual conference (BCA) in February 2018, I was truly humbled and inspired by the work and mission of Action For A-T in the hope they bring in identifying a cure for Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T).

I learned that A-T is a rare, life limiting childhood condition with symptoms such as poor balance, reduced motor coordination and susceptibility to cancer and lung disease. I also learned that the 45 people who took part in the first ever BCA Bike Challenge for A-T in September 2017 had a fundraising target of £30k…… and raised over £93k!!

At this time, there is no cure or treatment, and this is where the Action for A-T charity, volunteers and fund raisers come in. The charity has so far invested £1.7m in 27 worldwide medical research projects that inspire hope and support doctors and researchers to find a cure and treatments for A-T.

So what can we do to help?......Cue BCA Bike Challenge No. 2.

The first bike event in September 2017 was from our BCA branch in Blackbushe to BCA Paris. This next event in September 2018 will be from our BCA Bedford branch to BCA Netherlands. The money you raise here will go to the charity and will help to further raise awareness of A-T and help in continued research.
