Hello,

I was inspired by my distant relative named Kim to raise awareness of COPD.

 After viewing her recent video, I was made aware that she was suffering from COPD, so I decided to look into this condition further.  This is when I thought to myself, I'd like to spread awareness further and also see if I could help by raising funds for the British Lung Foundation. 

In order to raise funds, I decided I should take part in an event where I could hopefully obtain some kind donations/sponsors from you kind people. I have only just started cycling again after 15 years of not cycling and I plan to cycle from Liverpool to Manchester which is roughly a 43 mile ride. 

Since Kim and many other COPD sufferers can not participate in this type of event due to breathlessness, I decided this would be a suitable and meaningful event. 

I know I am not very fit compared to people who frequently cycle and I don't have much time left to train for this event, but I promise you that I will complete this event, no matter what it takes. 

I have chosen this date for the fundraise bike ride (15/11/2017) as it is the World COPD date this year, so there is a reason this is an extra special date for this event.

Also, please encourage your family and friends to take the breath test on the BLF page. This only takes a few minutes and this is for the benefit of your loved ones.
