Monisayo 's Warwick in Africa Volunteering Programme

Warwick in Africa · 3 July 2019
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page.
This summer I will be travelling to Soweto, South Africa for eight weeks to volunteer as an English teacher at an underprivileged school.
Growing up in Accra, Ghana I have always been aware of the great disparities in educational opportunities. I feel blessed to have been given the chance to reach my full academic potential and have experienced the doors which such an education can open to a person. Thus I believe it is essential to do what is within my reach to give others a hope for a better future.
I have always believed education to be the backbone behind change. Behind every success story has been a period of learning. It is for this reason that a passion has been stirred in me to become part of the engine that turns children’s lives from nothing to something.
Warwick in Africa organises groups of students each year which volunteer at schools in South Africa, Ghana, and Tanzania. Strong organisation, consistent donations, and support from students have fueled the success of the programme. Through fundraising, teaching classes, and training teachers, Warwick in Africa has had a positive impact on the livelihoods of half a million Africans. In 2018 alone, 15,036 students were taught and 717 teachers were trained across the three countries.
All donations will be made towards funding the Warwick in Africa programme. A donation of £10 alone will teach a child for a whole month through Warwick in Africa. Please find it within yourselves to donate to this cause and make a difference.
