From small beginnings in the year 2000 FOMO now looks after thousands of children through a network of 14 centres covering over 95 villages. FOMO Provides Health Care, Formal and Informal Education, Food Security and Daily Activities. Everything raised will go to Malawi to Help the children.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2006, visiting Malawi changed my life.  I took part in a charity challenge; cycling, hiking and kayaking across the beautiful "warm heart of Africa".  On that trip I visited some amazing projects helping those affected by HIV/aids.

This experience helped me find Friends of Mulanje Orphans and later that year, I retuned with the founders Mary and Keith Woodworth to learn more about the children of Mulanje that they looked after.

Pretty soon I became a trustee and I have assisted with the development and fundraising of FOMO and made many trips to see the work we do, which now includes caring for thousands of orphans.  It provides daycare support, food, education and health needs.  In 2013 we built a high school to complement the driving school, tailoring school, IT school and HIV clinic.

FOMO needs essential funds to maintain the current services and the money raised will go into the general fund to assist with all day to day running costs of FOMO in the work that it does.

Please note, FOMO is run via a network of volunteers, here and in Malawi.  It is not a charity with high UK administration costs, we spend a few hundred pounds per year only on administration.

I have run one marathon for FOMO in 2012.  I now want to achieve a sub four hour time and raise much needed funds.  This will not be easy for me.  I am not a natural long distance runner.

It costs us just over £1,000 per week to feed all our children - please be generous.
