Story

Hi Everyone

First off i want to say a big thanks for the donations last time. The money from here went to Cancer Research UK and i am sure helped in the ongoing fight against cancer.

Now for why i am doing this:

I am doing this because of my mum. In 2015 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully she caught it early and her treatments were a complete success. This spurred me on to climb the Three Peaks of the United Kingdom while dressed as a Stormtrooper to raise money for charity. 2015 saw me climb Snowdon and then Ben Nevis. It was also in 2015 that my aunt was also diagnosed with breast cancer as well. 2016 saw me climb Scafell Pike and complete the three peaks. Both my Mum and my Aunt are cancer free and have recovered completely.

I do this for both of them as my small way of helping. They had my complete support during there operations and treatments but the whole thing left me feeling sort of helpless.

The Lingen Davies Cancer Fund was there for my mum every step of the way during her treatments and so this time i want to help them.

Now for the What:

I am planning on climbing Carrauntoohil while dressed as a Stormtrooper from Star Wars. I will also be carrying a 501st legion flag with me as well. It is the tallest mountain in Ireland.

I am TK-3440 a member of the UK Garrison, which is part of the 501st Legion the largest costuming group in the world. The 501st has over 7000 members in over 50 countries. I alongside 350 other members of my garrison attend events in are spare time to raise money for charity while dressed as characters from star wars.

The UKG membership is made up of passionate volunteers who fund and create there own costumes, adhering to the minute detail to ensure are costumes are movie accurate, and who endeavour to stay in character at all time.

We are extremely proud of are charity work, which underpins what we do. The UK Garrison is a not-for-profit organisation. When we attend events we do so to support their fundraising on the day. 100% of the money we raise from attending is shared by the UKG supported charities at the end of the year.

I have my own movie accurate stormtrooper costume and have attended many events while dressed as it. Most of my free time is spent either at events or building new costumes for events.

The image at the top of the page is me out of armour with the flag i will be carrying to the top of Carrauntoohil. I have planned to do this in the second week of May. It will be a challenge but to help fight this disease i will do anything.

Again thank your for you time

Regards
