The OLLIE Foundation a charity devoted to preventing youth suicide. Set up by three parents who lost their sons to suicide, they vowed to do something to stop it happening to others. The funds you help us raise enable us to train members of local communities in suicide prevention and intervention.

Story

In 2016, three parents who had all lost their teenage sons to suicide, vowed to do all they could to prevent other families suffering similar tragedies. The OLLIE Foundation (One Life Lost is Enough) is a registered charity funding suicide intervention skills training for adults working with young people.Since our registration in 2016 we have trained over 400 people in suicide prevention.Your fundraising helps us train even more people, break down the stigma attached to suicide, and increase awareness!

I have been around people who have been suicidal on a number of occasions both personally and professionally. In previous jobs I have supported and helped people who have been suicidal and made attempts to take their own lives.

It is often difficult to identify people who are suicidal and sometimes it is made harder when they mask their intention.

I would like to talk about the work the OLLIE foundation does, raise awareness of the charity and raise money in the process too...

As part of Roundwood Park Schools ‘Frank house’ charity week, I am shaving half my face. I will be finishing the week with a 10mile tough mudder obstacle course.
