NCS Save the Brave | Making care packages for the homeless · 31 August 2018

Young Devon is a progressive charity that exists to change the odds in favour of young people. Challenging negative stereotypes and campaigning with young people, Young Devon’s primary objective is to enhance lives and promote opportunity for those least likely to have their voices heard. .

Story

Visit any town in Devon and not only will you see a vibrant, bustling town centre, but increasingly you will see more and more homeless people, who are surviving on the fringes of society, living ever riskier lives, with little or no hope of ever getting out of the cycle.

We are a group of Young People from South Devon, who have come up with their own Social Action Project as part of the National Citizen Service, designed to help these people be able to manage their situation that little bit better.

We want to raise enough money to put together 20 care packages for homeless people in Devon & Torbay, we want these packages to be able to be given out by local homeless charities to those they come into contact with, giving them that little bit of extra support in what is a dangerous and risky existence on the streets. These care packages will include first aid medical equipment, to allow them to dress and clean injuries and wounds and general sanitary and self care items.
