Adam's Story
Hi, my name is Adam. I work in the Finance Department at Royal Cornwall Hospital.
I want to do something to recognise the extraordinary work that the teams do helping to support and treat patients with cancer.
Unfortunately, both of my parents died from cancer but not without putting up a fight. I saw first-hand the way they were cared for in the Headland Unit, the Sunrise Centre and on Lowen Ward and I want to do something to thank everyone involved. Each of these areas helped to give me more time with my parents and that means a lot to me.
I am proud to work for Royal Cornwall Hospital and hope that you are able to sponsor me to cycle 1,000km with Kate to raise some money for our Cancer and Surgical Services. It's going to be hard but I will do it knowing that I am raising a money for such a good cause. Thank you.
Kate's Story
Hi, I'm Kate and I work in Surgical Services.
Like Adam, I'm proud to work for the Royal Cornwall Hospital and I would like to do whatever I can to improve the standard of care we give to patients and to make a difference to my colleagues working day. Any money that you donate will go into our Surgical fund to be spent on items that will make a difference to our service delivery.
We will be cycling in the Trelawny Entrance at Treliske Hospital from 8am on Thursday 2nd March 2017 to 8am on Friday 3rd March if you would like to support us in person.

Patients are diagnosed & treated faster, families & loved ones are more comfortable, and staff travel out of county for specialized training…all through generous support given to Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity. Advancements and innovations in healthcare provision help return patients back to health quicker, yet are hard to predict. Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity capitalises on these advancements by purchasing state-of-the-art equipment, conducting innovative research, and providing healing environments as soon as they are available.
