There is a very real prejudice against people who leave religion. As more and more people are doubting the faith they grew up with, and deciding to leave religion, we need to start paying attention to the extent to which many apostates suffer. Many apostates can become isolated from their families, experience domestic violence and neglect, sometimes resulting in physical injury and deterioration, all for the decision to leave a religion that does not comply with their world view. Faith to Faithless also deal with apostate suicide cases and apostates who have become addicts and dependents. 

Atheist, Humanist, and Secular Students (The AHS) are fund-raising for Faith to Faithless, an amazing charity which supports apostates and is a section of the British Humanist Association (BHA).

Your donation will go towards:

•  Establishing a community of support for apostates.
• Producing literature that can be used within mental health situations such as counselling. This will help educate mental health professionals on an apostate's situation and how to help them effectively. Many mental health organisations do not currently specify on apostasy. 
•  Providing a speaking platform for apostates who face fear and isolation from family and friends which often forces them into silence and self doubt. 
  
• Producing guides which are written by apostates for both other apostates and those who want more information on how to support people thinking about leaving religion, those in the process of leaving religion and those who have left religion.
