raising HIV Awareness through Cricket in Uganda , 22 September 2012
We raise awareness of AIDS through cricket to strengthen communities and fight disease

Story

(In the voice of Imran Khan):-

In September 2012, I will be flying out to Uganda with the charity Cricket Without Boundaries, where we will spend two weeks living in remote villages getting kids to play cricket and developing the skills of local teachers and volunteers to coach the game.

Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) has been going for over 5 years and now operate in 5 of the poorest African countries (www.cricketwithoutboundaries.com).  Along with bringing communities together and giving kids the opportunity to play sport we also aim to raise HIV/Aids awareness.

I will cover all my travel/living expenses however we need funds to buy sports equipment that we will leave with the communities as part of the legacy. All money raised will go directly to pay for this.  I really appreciate any contribution that you can make no matter how small.

For my contribution, you can look forward to a generation of African kids playing cricket like cornered tigers!

Best Wishes

Nadeem

About the charity

Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.
