Yemen Appeal

Yemen · 9 January 2019
Yemen is the second largest Arab sovereign state in the peninsula. It is a country known for its striking scenery, incredible architecture and magnificent history. Yemenis are known for their generosity, hospitality and humbleness in welcoming people stated as far back as the time of the great traveler; Ibn Battuta who spoke admirably of the Yemeni people. Yemeni tradesmen are also known for playing a key role in spreading Islam through their trade with people from all over the world.
Since 2014, an ongoing conflict has resulted in a severe humanitarian crisis. Clashes during the conflict has destroyed public infrastructure and services like hospitals and schools. 22.2 million people, 75% of the country’s population are in desperate need of humanitarian aid including the essentials of food, clean water and medicine.
People lack access to clean water and sanitation because pumps and treatment facilities have been purposely damaged and destroyed. In cases where they are operational, there isn’t enough fuel to run the water system. The situation is so disastrous the United Nation says that a child under the age of 5 dies every 10 minutes from preventable causes including hunger, disease and violence. According to the famine early warning systems network, Yemen is the largest food emergency in the world. Food is so scarce that 14 million people don’t have enough to eat and 8.4 million people are at risk of famine meaning they could die of starvation.
My dear brothers and sisters, these people need our help desperately. Help Yateem took the task to help the most vulnerable Yemenis in the country and those who fled the country. We provide food and distribute essential supplies like blankets, education, medical care such as cholera treatment with clean water as well as equipment and other much needed medical supplies. Our overall goal in Yemen is to ensure the delivery of effective and principled humanitarian action meets the needs of the most vulnerable people.
Please be part of this worthy cause and donate now. I beg you to work together with us to better the lives of our brothers and sisters ✨
